Driving Questions

  1. Grandpa constantly transforms and uses old blankets, from blankets to coats and vests, which inspire readers to think about what other seemingly useless items around them can be reused like the blankets in Grandpa's hands, so as to reduce waste of resources and maximize utilization of resources?
  2. Grandpa's behavior taught us that many things in life have the value of reuse. So what specific actions can we take in our daily lives to recycle and reprocess various types of renewable resources, so that they can play a role in environmental protection?
  3. In the story, Joseph's blanket was old and could have been discarded, but Grandpa's solution gave it new life. This leads the reader to think about whether our current consumption concept focuses too much on buying new items and ignores the full use of existing items, which leads to unnecessary waste and puts pressure on the earth's resources and environment?
  4. From the perspective of the limited resources of the earth, we need to reflect on whether existing consumption patterns are sustainable. The way of making the best use of everything like Grandpa, in contrast to our current consumption concept of pursuing fashion and frequently changing items, prompts us to think about how to adjust consumption concepts to reduce the impact on the earth and achieve harmonious coexistence between people and the earth?

Project Introduction

Disciplines/Subjects: Art design, Science, language Art

Key Themes:Recycle renewable resources and consider the impact of existing consumption attitudes on the planet,Civic Responsibility

"Grandpa Must Have a Way" tells the story of Grandpa turning old blankets into various new items, conveying the environmental concept of making the best use of everything and recycling. At a time when resources are tight and the need for environmental protection is urgent, this picture book provides an excellent entry point for inspiring the public, especially teenagers, to pay attention to recycling renewable resources. Participants will have a deep understanding of the concept, types and importance of recycling renewable resources, and know the recycling process of common renewable resources in life, such as paper, plastic, metal, fabric, etc. Stimulate participants' interest in environmental protection and resource recycling, and establish a consumption concept of cherishing resources and reducing waste. Exercise the practical ability of participants to transform old objects, and cultivate innovative thinking and teamwork spirit. Participants are encouraged to actively practice resource recycling and reuse in daily life, and encourage people around them to participate in environmental protection actions.
