Tracy graduated with a bachelor's degree from Harper Adams University and a postgraduate degree from the University of Nottingham in the UK, both in the field of science. After completing her studies, she spent 10 years teaching at international schools. Throughout her career, she gained extensive experience in primary education, developing a strong understanding of teaching methods and student needs. Her time in international education allowed her to refine her skills in adapting to diverse educational environments and cultures while fostering a passion for inspiring young learners to explore and engage with the world around them.
As a Grade 4 homeroom teacher, she is responsible for the daily teaching and management of her students, ensuring an engaging and well-structured learning environment. In the classroom, she builds strong relationships with her students, fostering trust and creating a supportive space where each learner feels valued and motivated. She also maintains open communication with parents, establishing a partnership that helps support learner development and well-being. In addition to her teaching duties, she serves as the Grade Level Leader for Grades 3 and 4, overseeing daily operations, managing events, and promoting a positive, collaborative working atmosphere among the teaching team.
Her areas of interest and research focus on enhancing student engagement through Project-Based Learning (PBL), which she believes is a powerful method to foster active participation and curiosity in learners. She is particularly passionate about cross-subject teaching, integrating current affairs, the latest knowledge, and practical skills into her lessons. By linking daily learning to real-life situations, she encourages students to see the relevance of what they are learning and apply it beyond the classroom. Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys traveling and hiking.
She believes that every child is unique and special, with their potential and pace of growth. In her view, education is not solely about academic achievement, but about nurturing well-rounded individuals who can thrive in a rapidly changing world. While academic success is important, she feels that developing key life skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving is equally crucial. These skills enable learners to navigate challenges, build strong relationships, and become confident, independent thinkers.
At Moonshot Academy, her primary goal is to guide learners in a way that helps them adapt to the world around them and explore it with curiosity and confidence. She believes that primary school should be a safe and positive environment where learners feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow both academically and personally. By fostering a love for learning and encouraging resilience, she aims to prepare learners not just for the next academic stage, but for life beyond school. She hopes to create a classroom atmosphere where learners can develop not only their cognitive skills but also their emotional intelligence, social awareness, and problem-solving abilities, equipping them to face the future with enthusiasm and capability.
